Folks, it's this simple, and it should be easy to understand for most beaten-down mets fans: the Braves will not get away with this. We will exact revenge. Sweet revenge. Next week or September. Victory will taste that much sweeter.
And don't say I didn't call this... Kaz Matsui will have an opportunity to provide the team a much needed spark plug for the upcoming road trip to SD, SF and ATL. I am sooo pulling for him, and it's a perfect opportunity... ten consecutive games away from the boo birds at Shea to make some noise in peace. Here's hoping he returns in May to cheers.

Silver Lining Patrol: Revenge is now possible, so is Redemption for one...

Kaz Matsui sucks, whether it's on the road or at Shea. It's time for Mets management to eat shit on this one, just like they refuse to do with Zambrano and move on. Question: Can anyone tell me why Jose Valentin is in left the last two games and Victor Diaz was sent down? Valentin looks like Mark Carreon on juice.

Sassermack - great first post :-( Come now give him one last chance, what choice do we have?
VD got sent down on Sunday because they want to make sure he gets enough ABs, so he goes down to AAA. At that point, Jose Valentin was serving coffee in the dugout. Then all the injuries happened, but he cannot be recalled from Norfolk until 10 days after the demotion. So that's why. Valentin sucks. I never said in my post that Kaz hasn't sucked for the Mets. In fact it's a pretty fair inference if you understand the concept of "redemption." If you think Mets management is going to publicly declare the Matsui deal to be a failure, or "eat shit" as you put it, you have absolutely no concept of how business works.
Personally I blame the player's union for strong-arming owners into offering these kinds of deals by pressuring players to hold out for them, and I blame the owners for their desperation and willingness to let their payroll skyrocket. You can apply this statement to Beltran too if you like. But there's nothing stupid or ignorant about cheering for a player YOU ALREADY PAID FOR with the hopes that good fan vibes might actually improve their performance and give your team a better return on their investment. On that point, I'll respectfully disagree with you, Sasser. Re: Silver Lining Patrol: Revenge is now possible, so is Redemption for one...

I, too, find myself looking forward to the return of Kaz. At least for his first at bat tonight when, if history is any guage, he will homer in his first at bat. After that all bets are off.

Oh.. and welcome sassermack and dc1756. Sasser- I know who you are. And you will be needed when we start casting the '86 mets movie remake in this space.
By the way, sasser, where is Grant Roberts these days? Re: Silver Lining Patrol: Revenge is now possible, so is Redemption for one...

If Kaz can't hit in the SD and SF series, it's truly never ever going to happen. I think we're all waiting with baited breath. Moreover I hope Floyd and Beltran are back, that's what really messed up our offense....

Grant Roberts who was ALWAYS hurt, also had a positive steroid test a few years ago when he was in the minor league and was suspended for 15 games. I have not heard anything about him since. My guess is that he is retired.

Oh my god. Kaz just did it again. Inside the park this time. Hard to believe 3 years in a row. He's making me look good, I think I'll play the lotto this weekend.

you called it! Now let's hope the rest of his season isn't a straight repeat!! Gotta love the hustle tho, and the fact that kaz had to run through piazza to make it!

I thought if you won games people came to the park and in turn the owners made money off ticket sales and increasing sales in team merchandise? I never knew someone that became a fan of a team because they were losing. If Matsui isn't playing well (which I think most of us agree he hasn't in his Mets career) he is hurting the team. If you have enough guys hurting the team you lose games and this hurts business. Maybe someone with such a high business acumen doesn't have time to consider trivial things like these.
